Public trust in information is at a historic low even as the amount of data around us explodes. Social media and relentless information cycles have fragmented attention and eroded belief. As McLuhan said, “all media work us over completely” — and boy, are we being worked over now.
The pandemic made data visualization a language everyone needed to understand, but that moment passed. So what comes next?
